I looked on the 1880 Census of Ohio and may have found her in Green Camp, Marion Co., OH (page 68D), which is the next county to the North East. The family consists of:
Delilah Patterson Self F W Widowed 69
Marion Patterson Son M W Widowed 31
Jesse I. Patterson GDau F W Single 5
Madison Patterson Son M W Single 28
It looks like the right family with the boys going by their middle names, though Jesse is not old enough to have showed up in the 1870 Census. There is a Thomas Patterson, 23, living in the same town (page 67A of the Census) with a David Vestel.
