Hi. I am familiar with Steve, who posts here on Genforum. He has a copy of the Bible Records that are in a Bible that I purchased a few years ago. I recently found a letter in the Bible, which reads: Died April 24 at 10 o'clock at night Aged 68 years, 7 months, 1884. A few of the last words of my wife. At one time of extreme suffering She Said there is no rest here. She said, Oh no but when I shall rest when I cross the river. all I would ask is to set down at His feet and place my hand in His. Many times she said Oh that I might be delivered. She spoke of the innumerable company that come up out of the great tribulation of the many loved one that was waiting her among them her little grandchildren. She felt great anxiety that all her father's children might be in heaven at one time speaking of unsaved Souls whe said Oh ' that they might see their condition. she bore her sufferings uncomplainly. J B Miller" I was wondering who J. B. Miller was. I have used some punctuation in the above, but there was very little punctuation in the letter. The Bible Records are: "Hiram Pattee born Monroe Dec. 19,1828, married Aug. 18, 1850; died Aug. 24, 1914; Caroline Pattee born Jackson April 6, 1835, died June 20, 1896; Hiram Pattee Jr. born Monroe Oct. 20, 1858, married Aug. 3, 1879; Isabelle Pattee born Monroe March 7, 1861, died Feb. 28, 1878; Flora E. Pattee born Monroe Oct. 17, 1863; Flora E. Pattee born Monroe Oct. 17, 1863, married Oct. 12, 1879 [no name of spouse] Next page: Hiram Pattee Jr. born Monroe, Maine 20 Oct. 1858, married Aug. 31, 1879; Martha E. Mitchel born Monroe, Maine Aug. 11th, 1856; Jetson Pattee born Monroe, Maine Sept. 12th 1880, died Apr. 1907; Altha Wood born Belfast, Me.; Albert Pattee born Monroe, Me., Oct. 10, 1881; Warren E. Pattee born Monroe, Me. Apr. 29, 1885, died Dec. 1915; Lulu Bailey born Knox, Me. Mar. 14, 1895; Linwood Pattee born Belfast, Me. jan. 12, 1910; Creighton Pattee born Monroe, Maine, June 25, 1916; There are clippings pasted to one page, which read: No. 1:"In jackson,Aug. 21st, William E. Page, aged 85 years 16 days"; No. 2: In Jackson, Aug. 27th, John E., son of Edwin and Cynthia Hamilton, aged 13 years, 5 months, 25 days. 'Tis lonely now within our home, Each room is filled with gloom, For death has taken Johnny hence, And laid him in the tomb." The first two clippings appear to be joined in the same newspaper. No. 3: "In Monroe, Aug. 30, by John W. Nealley, Esq., Miss Martha E. Mitchell to Mr. Hiram Pattee, both of Monroe." and No. 4: "In Monroe, Oct. 12th by John W. Nealley, Esq., Miss Flora E. Pattee of Monroe, to Mr. Horace L. Clements, of Newburgh." On Dec. 1, 1918, the Bible was owned by Blanche M. LePage. I don't know who it had owned it before, but it last was owned by a person who needed money. Steve has these records. I wondered how many have seen the 105-page genealogy done by Linwood Pattee, whose birth was recorded in the Family Bible. In 1989, before his death, he was President of the Belmont, Maine Historical Society, which official name is Greene Plantation Kistorical Society. If you would desire a copy of the Bible records, in color, email me at [email protected]. God bless, Isabel Morse Maresh
