Kay, I don't know if this is the same
family of Patronella's I'm looking for
but my great-grandmother came to the USA
from Corleone Sicily with her brothers.
They ported in New Orleans just like your
husbands family and then they settled in
Bryan, Texas. Her name was Angelina
Petronella. I have a copy of her marriage
license (married in Bryan - 1887 to my
great-grandfather - Felippe Paternostro.)
He also came from Corleone Sicily, ported
in New Orleans and ended up in Bryan. I
don't know if they met after they got to
Bryan or knew each other before. I don't
have any of her brothers names but I think
her fathers name was Frank. I have a
copy of her death certificate too. She
and my g-grandfather moved to the Dallas
area soon after they were married. If you
have any other info that may tie my family
and your husbands family I would be
estatic!! I haven't been able to find anything on the Patronella side. I've tried
looking up the cemeteries, but then so many
Italians changed their names during the
early 40's. My grandfather changed his
name in 1941 so he could work with an
American name. Also my g-grandmother,
Angelina Patronella was a chubby woman.
I guess most Italian women were back then!
Let me know!! I figured maybe her brothers
had stayed in the Bryan area.
