Hiram BARLOW, participant, Looking for any information on him

Hiram Wheeler BARLOW 28 Sep 1820-27 Aug 1876.
He married the daughter of James CUMMINS, who was also a participant of the Battle at the Windmill. James was the only one released due to reasons of insanity.

They both settled in Oswego, Oswego Co., New York, USA.

I would appreciate any leads on finding out more information on these men and their ancestory. Especially the birthplace of Hiram and his parentage, death of James.

I know James was the son of Abraham & Seena CUMMINS of Grenville, Augusta, Ontario, Canada and married Charity RUDE/ROOD.
