John Morisset on risonners in Tasmania folowing the the Patriot War 0f 1837/1837
A war took place in Lower Canada and Upper Canada in the fall of 1837 and the fall of 1838. The British troops won all the battles and 58 prisonners from Lower Canada (mostly all French Canadian) and 83 prisonners from Upper Canada (mostly all American) were captured and sentenced to death. Their life sentence was commuted to life transportation to Tasmania as convicts.
Many web site give their names and many books are written on them.
I search information on one of them, John Morisset, a Lower Canadian, that was involved in the Windmill Battle and sent to Tasmania.
