Several years back while searching for information on my Van Camp ancestors, I ran into a reference to Garret Van Camp as a participant in the Short hills rebellion. I could not find a reference to his origin or disposition other than he was from New York. In the last few hours another researcher on the Van Camp line reports that Garret was transporte from England to Tasmania. Could you refer me to any sources for information? I'd like to develop more information on his background prior to these events. Also, do you know if any trial transcripts or reports are available? Thanks in advance Phil Van Camp in Southern Calif.
