I have been re-reading my first posting and see that I failed to include some information.I have been researching for so long that I forget that not everyone can read my mind. One of the reasons that I feel that it was a Paul, Jr. in Georgia is that my Luke was born about 1770, therefore his father probably would have been born about 1740-50.From the records of Edgecombe Co., NC we know that Paul Patrick and Agnes Millikin (Milligan) married BEFORE 1752.This doesn't mean that they married in 1752, it means that they were married BY 1752.We have no indication how long they had been married, but from the ages of the Patrick men in NE Georgia in the 1790s and 1800s, I should think that these men were about two generations removed. There was a Paul Patrick in Wilkes Co., GA who seems to have been a generation above my Luke and Milligan and the others. He seems to have died in the late 1790s or early 1800s.A widow, Nancy Patrick, shows up in 1805 in Wilkes County along with some of these younger men. This is from the land lottery of that year. Was the the widow of Paul Patrick? Was she the mother of the younger Patricks?I have yet to find any estate records for a Paul Patrick, but would like to know if anyone has done any research into this.I strongly believe that Paul Patrick and Agnes Milikin were the progenitors of the Georgia Patricks, but feel from my research and 20 years of experience that they were of an earlier generation than many think.I know that some of that belief is based on the "Pascal Book", but I will say that since it's not a contemporary account, but rather the recollections of a person who didn't know these individuals personally nor experience the events depicted, what was written can't been seen as primary evidence.I know that there is alot of truth in what was written, but think that some of it is out of chronological and generational context. If we can use it as a guide and then located primary evidence and contemporary records, I believe that we can put together a fairly accurate accounting of the Patricks!
