I notice a lot of "Galston Patons" in this forum.

My g-g-grandmother was Martha Paton, who lived in Brewland Street, Galston. She married Joseph Struthers, also from Galston, in 1874.

Martha's parents were Thomas and Elizabeth (maiden surname Young) All I really know about them is that they were married around 1845.

Thomas's parents were James and Jane (maiden surname Sharp) - and I know virtually nothing about them at all.

Joseph Struthers and both Thomas and James Paton were coal miners. Martha was a collar weaver at the time of her marriage.

Any possible connections?
