Paton, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire 1905

My Grandfather John Paton's family imigrated to Rhode Island along with several other Quaker families about 1910 when he was about 10 years of age. I have visited Lochwinnoch on two occations and searched in vain for any kind of information. The town historian was unaware of Quakers ever being there.
The sum of my knowledge oof the family consists of the folllowing. At one time they lived in Ballymena, northern Ireland. My great grandparents were William Pataon and Mary Renfrew. William's Brother Robert was killed in the mines in Lochwinnoch.
Can anyone out there fill in some holes?
