My name is John T. Pattillo and my line of Pattillo's descends from George Pattillo, one of the brothers (along with brother, Henry) who came to America on/about 174l.
I have one of the few (?) remaiing copies of Melba Crosse's book on these two brothers and their many, many descendnts and had numberous cotacts via telephpone and letters (no email then) with them.My wife and I have traveled extensively in Scotland and have scrapped numberous moss off graves spelled PATTULLO that way today) as well as the branch (mostly in England who spell it our way TODAY.Am convinced that we all spelled it that way origianally but the "U" intheir way is a HARDU which sounds like an 'i" in our way of speaking.Got to know well and visitied a retired Col. Douglas Pattullo and his wife, Jean, who lived in Port of Menteith and stayed with then each year over a 12 year period.I also believe George and Henry came to America from/around Blairgowrie/Dunkeled Scotland and hsve and visited other Pattullo's in that area. Space is runnning out but would be happy to share my experiences shouldanyone wish to contact me via email.
