Sarah Patillo m-Henry Loyd 1809 , VA
Gladys C. Shannon 10/04/04
In response to my personal query, and further reserch, regarding these two individuals. I post the following from the Giles Co., TN Court Records:
8. File Box L - 9 Case 4111 Divorce Bill 1842
Henry LOYD vs. Sarah LOYD
Henry LOYD and Sarah PATTILLO were married in Brunswick County, Virginia in 1809. They moved to Davidson County, Tennessee, where they lived for three years, in 1812 they moved to Giles County where they had resided since. They had no children. They had equal division of property.
19. File Box P - 5 Case 441 1844
George T. PATILLO and W. W. ACOCK et al vs. Wesley BURGE and John AMIS.
Wesley BURGE was indebted to Complainants PATILLO, ACOCK and Others in the sum of nine dollars for the rent of land and interest thereon. George PATILLO was also Administrator of Sarah LOYD, deceased. George PATILLO charged Wesley BURGE with fraud. BURGE said Mrs. LOYD had given him a tract of land. PATILLO said BURGE used fraud on an old and infirmed old lady. PATILLO did not know how much money and property came to the hands of BURGE and AMIS. He asked they be made Defendants to the Amended Bill and they be made to disclose how much money etc, came to their hands. A small pile of papers in this case signed by Sarah LOYD and dated September 15, 1841 that states that her last wish is for Wesley BURGE to have everything she possessed. Testimony by Rebecca and Jane BURGE who were 18 and 16 years of age. Most of case missing.

As I find no George Patillo as a sibling for Sarah, wondering if perhaps this George is missing among the listing.
Thanks
