I'm Mark Ivan Patey, my father was Ivan Matthew Patey from Berks, England. I live in Western Australia and was born in NSW, Australia in 1953. Until about 15 years ago there were only a couple of Patey's listed in the Perth phone directory and I was of the conclusion that the Patey name was both unique and not very common. Imagine my surprise when I typed 'Patey' into the search engine! There are also more Patey names in the local phone directory now, none of whom are any of my relatives as far as I know. All of my relatives live in or near the London area. I have a cousin in Qld and my father had an uncle and an aunt in Woolongong, NSW. At present I am working on my family tree, so cannot go any further back than my father and his brothers and sisters at this time(my grandparents died while I was young). Just writing this to register my presence on this side of the world and maybe establish some contacts.
