I think I forgot to answer your question about where the Patty name came from.From what I have been told they were originally found in France and went to England as soldiers when William the conquerer invaded England in 1066AD. A few generations after the Norman invasion the name was found scattered over England, Scotland and the north of Ireland. Our branch, starting with Theophilus Paty, born in 1632 in Featherstone, Yorkshire, England, came to America through the Barbados Islands.
