I've been looking at your messages, and think we may have a connection somewhere as the names you have been using have been popping up in later generations of my family.

My great-great grandfather John McIntosh PATERSON (c1845-1900) and his wife Mary FRASER (1863-1942) immigrated to Australia where they had 2 children:

John PATERSON (1884-?)
My great-grandfather James William PATERSON (1886-1977)

and then immigrated to New Zealand where they had 2 more children:

Hugh Wishart PATERSON (1890-1918)
Oma PATERSON (1899-?)

Is it possible that John and Mary immigrated to Australia with a brother of John's?
