Flo, what part of Scotland is your William Paterson from?
My Margaret Paterson b 1829 in Clackmannon, SCOT came to the US, to Pennsylvania, and then Illinois. Her husband Charles Hochrie (or Haughery; Hockery) was also a coalminer, ending up in the Decatur,Illinois coal mines.(possible Steetor as well) I have no idea how Margaret and Charles ended up in Pennsylvania, whether they came with her family, or his. Anyway, it is very similar migration patterns and I wondered if there was a connection.
Thanks, Mary Corcoran
