I am seeking information about Robert Paterson, born c1816 Peebles and widowerer of Janet Mercer,who went to America with his daughter Janet Paterson and Grandson James Paterson around 1886/87,and died there in the early 1890's. He may have gone to join other family members Isabella (Paterson)and Matthew Bolam (Oklahoma&Washington State)or John and Marion (Clapperton)Paterson and their children Robert and Janet. Prior to departure for America the family lived at Kirkhill, Penicuik in Midlothian. Any help would be much appreciated.
