I did find where my Catherine "Kate" (Kathleen) Petell (also seen as Patell, Patel, Petill) was born May 1853 in MO. Her parents supposed were killed by Indians (family stories). I did contact another Teel researcher who says some of her kin interviewed some "aunts" a few years ago and she is almost sure that Kate is of French descent. She's going to look for her papers on the interview. Otherwise, I don't know when her parents might have been killed - but obviously it would be after 1853. I'll keep looking for any info and post back to this site if I find anything helpful to any other Patell researchers. Thanks for your help.
