Pate's Delight does not drain into the Roanoke river. The Patocasee Creek that flows from Pate's Delight at Conway in Northampton County, actually flows into the Chowan River via the Meherrin River. The Chowan river flows past the Cashoke Creek Shipyard Landing, where the Pate family Cashie River holdings were located in Bertie County, at the junction of the Chowan and Cashie rivers.
