Tom, I believe Alphonse was the son of Gennaro Passaro, my GG Grandfather. Gennaro immigrated to Stamford, Connecticut in the late 1800's with his family. The original visas had the name spelled "Passero", but was changed to Passaro shortly after their arrival to America. Probably an Ellis Island adaptation. My family records got packed away in storage after a house fire last year (they were unharmed) and I have not yet dug them out. I'm inspired to do so! *G*
