My father, Tom H Parvin Jr, b. 1911 d. 1980, came from Carmi, IL. His parents are Anna Lee Ross Parvin & Tom H. Parvin, Sr.
Tom H. Parvin, Sr. was born 1835 and died 1924. He was pioneer in settlement of Carmi, IL. Inventor of numberous improves in grain harvesters, vineyard plows, steam turbines.He established the 1st machine shop in southern Illinois. He is listed in Illinois State Historical Library as "Pioneer in development of Southern Illinois."He was a breeder of fine horses and black angus cattle. He established the first Iron foundry in Southern Illinois. He married Anna Lee Ross. Three sons by previous Parvins marriage (Eugene, Frank & Roy).
