Dear Trish,
I am a descendant of Alanson C. Parsons, also. His middle son, Horace C. was my great-grandfather--Horace's youngest son, Krader Winfred Parsons, was my maternal grandfather. Robin Lowe (of the Horace Parsons line), Gail Parsons Moore and her niece Launa Holsten (of the Gillespie Parsons line), Willa Parsons Griffin and I have all been working on the puzzle of Alanson C. and Harriet Woodruff Parsons and their forebears. Welcome to the chase! Broome County NY is probably where we need to find a marriage record for Alanson and Harriet. Interesting that Terry mentioned an Alanson born in 1777, brother of Orlando Parsons. Could THAT Alanson be our Alanson C.'s father (someone born in 1777 could be the father of someone born in 1806-8!). I have seen an Alanson Parsons listed in the NY state 1810 Census . . . would love to compare information. The Gillespie Parsons line has a reunion scheduled in Algona, Iowa in July of 2005--my mother and I are going to meet the family!
