When sorting through some old photos, i came across an old newspaper cutting...

FOUND SON DROWNED
Body Recovered From
Harbour

The body of Derek Parsloe, aged 12, missing from his home in Coldean, Brighton, for a month, was recovered from Newhaven harbour yesterday by his father, Mr. Adrian Parsloe, a professional diver, and Derek’s brother. John Parsloe, aged 21.
Last month, during the police hunt for Derek, it was said that without his regular supply of special tablets he was likely to lapse into a coma.
Mr. Parsloe had organised a team from Brighton Sub-Aqua Club to join him in the search. A police spokesman said it was possible the body had been carried into the harbour from the sea.

I then went through the GRO indexes and found the entry for 12 year old Derek R Parsloe in 1947 in Brighton.

I do not know who he is, as none of the family recognise any of the three names. Does anyone know anything about this accident or about the family???

I would be very grateful for any info

Thanks
Helen (lvhel@hotmail.com)
