Marjorie Parrot from Memphis was my grandmother. She married my grandfather in about 1912 and moved to Merigold, Mississippi. There was considerable family left in Memphis. Her sister, Leona, moved to Cleveland, Mississippi (about six miles from Merigold) and married S.B. Johnson. They had either a brother or a first cousin in Memphis who went by the nickname "Polly." I never heard him called anything else. Polly as I remember him was a dead ringer for the picture of George Parrot the train robber which appears on the Carbon County (Wyoming) Museum site if George had lost the mustache. There was a cousin or nephew named "Nick" who was a podiatrist in Memphis circa 1950s or 60s. Another cousin (of mine, I think he was a nephew of the Parrot sisters) retired as a colonel in the Air Force and is currently living in Suffolk, Virginia. He is one generation up from me, and might know a good bit more about the Memphis Parrots than I do. His name was also John.
