My GG-Grandfather, John L. Cailey moved to Ingalls, Kansas in the 1880's.His mother was Eliza Parrett Cailey Clouser who died in 1856 near Mahomet, Illinois. One of his sisters married a Garrick Blue in Champaign County, Illinois and moved to Garden City, Kansas and lived there, and died in the 1920-30's - I'll have to look this up.John L. held public office and owned a hotel in Ingalls- just a good spit west of Dodge City.A couple of years ago, before I got on the genealogy trail, my husband and I
spent a dark night walking around the old cemetery in Dodge City with flash lights looking for tombstones.Fun but freaky!
Now we know where to look - GG-Grandpa Cailey is buried near Sleepy Eye, Minnesota - not in Kansas.Oh, well! That is the fun!
