Hi Shirley,

I track this Parr line beginning with a John Edmund Parr, Sr married to Mary Thames. Probably both coming from England to Maryland. Next in line would be Arthur Parr, Sr married to Margaret Mary Ross. Other potential wives include Margaret Wright and Sarah McGraw. This family has migrated from Maryland to North Carolina. I think about six children. Arthur, Jr marries Mary Polly Morgan and their family is exceptionally detailed in the autobiography you included on-line.

As far as I know, this Parr line is not biologically related to mine. And the above information was gleaned from ancestry.com, genforum, etc, so anyone else reading this should be very cautious. As a matter of reference, my Parr line also originated in England, but came through Massachusetts and New York. Then the two Parr lines parallel each other since they both migrated to North Carolina and later Indiana, but separately. I track four, maybe five biologically unrelated Parr lines in Indiana, which can be very confusing.

Your info on the John Parr confirms what I have. I list six children from the marriage to Mary Thames: Arthur, Sr, Noah, John Edmund, Jr, Elizabeth, Mary and Mariam. Maybe Noah is bogus info?

The six children of Arthur Parr, Sr and his three wives: Morgan, Arthur, Jr, John, Ester, Margaret and Mary. All I think born in Rowan, North Carolina. I've not extended these families since they are not mine.

I think more Parr descendants will eventually take an interest in DNA and we will be able to confirm more lines.

Talk to you shortly,

Bill
