Elizabeth, There were several Jesse Parr men in and around Sussex and Morris Counties New Jersey. They were part of the Parr family that migrated from Suffolk County, New York in the early eighteenth century (there was at least one other Parr family in New Jersey not biologically related to my line). A Benjamin Luce migrated with the Parr, Corwin, Case and other related families from New York to New Jersey. These families were connected to the Puritan movement from England to the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Some (but not all) left the MBC for a non-Winthrop (Anglican) style of religious freedom on the tip of Long Island (Suffolk Co). Later many descendants migrated to Morris County. I was not aware of a Scotland connection to our Parr clan - but would be very interested in learning more. Several Parr families later moved to Pennsylvania, including a Jesse Parr who was married to Margaret Shellenberger about 1824. His grandfather was another Jesse Parr from Warren, New Jersey. Again - I'm very curious about any Parr lines migrating from Scotland. Thank you. Bill Parr San Diego Notify Administrator about this message?
