Jean, The Parrs' I associate with Crawford County, Indiana are: Burton Parr, James Berton Parr, James Willet Parr, Jerry Marvin Parr, and Oliver Parr. This may be your line, although the population in 1820 was 2,583 - so I suppose it's possible there were two unrelated lines of Parrs' living there simultaneously, but odds are against it. I ran into that same problem with my Parr line in both Tennessee and Indiana. The above Parr line probably traveled from Virginia and Kentucky before settling in Crawford County. As far as I know, this is not my line - so I don't have a lot of additional info. About twenty years ago I did correspond with the GGG grandson of Burton, Oliver and Priscilla Parr. There was a terrible cholera epidemic around 1830 that killed many in the area - probably a few Parrs'. I'm sure that this Parr line migrated to the area starting with Thomas Parr born 1778 in Virginia. They were married in Colombia, Kentucky in 1803. In 1817 - 1818 they moved to Nebraska, Indiana, now called Alton, fifty miles south of Salem on the Ohio River. They had ten children. The two older boys were Burton and John. Many additional Parrs were born over the years. I think your Parr bunch probably fits in here somewhere. Let me know what you think.
