Terry,
I had looked in Madisonville, TN first since that's where "Pumper" says he was born, but no such person in the 1880 Census, so I searched a wider area and found him as a 3 yr. old, born 1877 in the household of his parents William W. and Mary A. Parks. Census says Edgar was born 1877 in Indiana. I don't know where he got the idea he was born in TN. He had siblings and they too, were born in IN, those born before and after him. No census again until 1900 and by that time, he was married and living in Bosque Co., TX with his wife and one daughter and working for the railroad. His home was next to the Pump Station for the Katy railroad. I have found many more times than once that sometimes Family Trees have wrong information-they person compiling it takes the information they are given and adds it as fact when it often is not. I contacted the home person in the Broyles-McDaniels Tree with that information and sent them proof-never heard from them. JBrown
