I am grandson of William Henry Parkman, from the Henry Parkman, Sr. line. I've also been curious about where Henry Parkman, Sr. came from (before Virginia). Your recent posting regarding Georick is interesting. I had also thought our line came from England. Some of my information has Henry Sr. characterized as an immigrant, born in England or Scotland.
The Louise Parkman Thomas document refers to William H's grandfather as "full-blood Dutch." Wouldn't that be Henry, Jr., who was born in South Carolina?
Although I'm unaware of any link from the northern Elias Parkman line, there are some Elias Parkmans in Alabama and South Carolina in the early to mid 1800s.
