Mary Ann Parkinson - Birstall, Yorkshire, England
Posted by: Lee (ID *****5471) Date: January 06, 2008 at 09:32:32
  of 1069

My gggrandmother was Mary Ann Parkinson born abt 1836. She married Joshua Broadbent Feb. 22, 1857 in the Parish Church, Birstil(sic), Yorkshire. Mary Ann Died July 23, 1907 in Horton, Bradford, England. No father is included on the marriage certificate for Mary Ann, there is a line through it. Joshua's father, Joseph,a farmer, is entered.

I believe I found her in the 1851 census at White Swan Inn, Gomersal with her mother Hannah married to a Thomas Blakey, Inn Keeper.
Again, in the 1841 census, I believe I found her in Birstall, Gomersall with James and Mabeth Muffett (right hand page) while her mother, Harriott, seems to be on the left hand page and married to a John Tempest with a daughter Hannah Parkinson Tempest (1 month old). This is assumed from the 1891 census with Joshua and Mary Ann Broadbent where Harriott Tempest, widow, is listed as mother (had to have meant mother in law as Joshua's mother died abt. 1869).
Any help you can provide in confirming the above and any other information relative to the family would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
