WILL OF JAMRS PARKHILL
1750-1838

In the name of God, Amen. I, James Parkhill of Peters Township, Franklin County, and State of Pennsylvania, being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainly of the time thereof, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and the better prepared to leave thus world when it shall please Almighty God to call me hence do therefore make and constitute this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say - - -

First and principaly I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God, and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named, and after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, I devise and bequeath as follows - - -

Item 1st       I give and devise unto my son James fifty dollars, and unto his son Washington, I give and devise one hundred dollars to be applied towards his education to them and their heirs forever - - -

Item 2nd       I give and devise unto my son John one hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever, he said John first paying and lifting a note jointly given by him and myself to William Pyman for one hundred dollars it being for his use alone - - -

Item 3rd       I give and devise unto my son Andrew one hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever - - -

Item 4th       I give and devise unto my son Samuel and daughter Nancy all my estate, real and personal, that is all my personal property of every description that I may be posseses of at the time of my death and all my plantation where on I now live containing by patent one hundred and forty acres more or less to thewm, they said Samuel and Nancy, their heirs and assigns forever in the following manner:
              They are to share and share alike, my son Samuel to have half and my daughter Nancy to have the other half; they first paying my just debts and the above mentioned legacies - - -

It is also my will that my legatees above named shall not have power to sue or recover their respective legacies for the term of two years from the time of my death, nor is the said legacies to bear interest in any way for the said term of two years, but the above named legatees are to take their legacies in such payments as said Samuel and Nancy may ge able to make during the term of two years - - -

And lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint my daughter Nancy executrix and my son Samuel executor with full powers to sell any part or the whole of my said estate both real and personal as they shall think proper in order to execute this, my last will and testament, and I hereby revoke and annul all former wills made by me certifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament -

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this sixteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two - - -
