According to my records which consist of family notes passed on...
David Parkhill was born in Ireland, 1724 and died in Fayette Co. Pa. 1794. His will was dated Jan. 9, 1794 and probated Feb. 13, 1794 Franklin Twp, Fayette Co. Pa. Wife Martha, James Rankin And John Hamilton appointed exectrix and Executors.
David came to America at age of 16 around 1740 with his brothers Nathaniel, Robert (Hugh) and James and his sister Jean (Jane).
With failing health he returned to Ireland for several years. Upon his return to Americar, he took up the trade of a weaver. He was married to Martha Murray by Rev. Cuthbertson on August 29, 1768 in Adams Co. Pa.
David and Martha liver in York Co. in 1779, Bedford Co. in 1779, Westmorland Co. in 1783 and Fayette Co. in 1785
David and Martha purchased land of the Wm. Findley Original Land Grant, Feb. 20. 1787, recorded in Deed Book B, Page 203
David and Martha Had 12 children
-Sarah Parkhill m. Rev. William Andrews of Marietta College
-John Parkhill d. Sept 11 1837 near Cincinnati, Ohio survived by 2 daughters
-Jean Parkhill m. Ebenezer Robinson in Palmer, Mass. 1757
-Mary Parkhill b. July 9, 1776 Fayette Co. Pa. m. Jeremiah Morrow Feb. 19, 1799, Governor Ohio 1822-1826. They had six children. Mary and Jeremiah were first cousins.
-James Parkhill b. 1779. m. Sarah Smith, d. 1846
-David Parkhill b. 1780, lived in Jefferson Co. Ohio
-Martha Parkhill (married name may have been McLenahan)
-Elizabeth Parkhill
-William Parkhill, lived near Brownsville, Pa. He also had a son Named William
- Hugh Parkhill died as a child
-J Joseph Parkhill
- Ester Parkhill, d Aug. 20, 1828
David Parkhill is listed on the tax rolls for Franklin and Dunbar Townships, Fayette Co. from 1785-1793. His widow Martha is listed from 1795-1808, she lived on this plantation until her death at age 96.
