hi.
I am a Parkes, - granddaughter of Gerry Parkes, real name Frederick. He was from Johannesburg SA. I know there were lost of brothers and sisters and have a family listing at home- but amongst others there was a Manny if I recall correctly.
I was contacted today by Mark Russell he is the son of Anne Laura Parkes (believe there is some connection to Devon- UK) as well as the Charleston/ Charlton family.
Would love to know my roots and whether you have further info on the SA Parkes family.
From my side I know that there's another Parkes Clan that have settled in Durban and then there are a bunch in Knysna with a strong link to logging and timber housing and relatives of yourselves in Graaf Reinette?
