In hopes that there may be a connection with your query, I hereby submit very limited data, inasmuch as I also have little to go on in my research for Samuel PARKES (my great grandfather) who was born sometime about 1845/6/7, possibly in Co. Down, possibly close to Hilltown in that county. Apparently in 1864 he sailed to Canada with Mary CAMBLY/CAMELY/CAMLEY who was pregannt at the time with their first child, George (who was born in Canada in that same year). In the PRONI Freeholders' Records (www.proni.gov.uk/freeholders/intro.asp), a Samuel PARKS (without an "E") appears, from Ardglass, but a Samuel PARKS of older years....possibly a relation, possibly even a father. But I cannot find anything about either my Samuel or this latter one of older years.

If you have found anything new about your PARK(E)S, please let me know. I would be in your debt. Thank you.
