Your message may have some connection to the people I'm looking for. I believe Edward PARKINSON/PARKERSON migrated west from Virginia (he married a Alabama girl).And Edward, Jr. was known as Buck Parkinson. The dates look compatible.I've posted the following under PARKINSON at this site:

He married Mary Terris REED/READ/REID, b. 1823, Alabama, d. 1890 TX.
Son Edward Henry Parkinson, b. Aug 15, 1855, Victoria, TX, d. Jan. 5,
1929, Twisp, WA, m. Elizabeth WINN (dau of
Thomas and Hannah (McChesney) Winn, b. Aug. 18, 1859, Jackson Co., TX.
Edw., Sr. or Jr., was TX Ranger 1870-71. (Recorded as PARKERSON in
records at Austin, TX.)
Edw., Sr. was JP in DeWitt Co, 1865
William lived in Dallas, TX at the time of his brother's (Edw. H.
Parkinson's) death (1929).(I found William's name in Edward's
obituary.)
