Dear Cathy thanks for your message. My father researched our Janes family tree in the 1960's and uncovered this information. My ggrandmother Emily Parfitt married Frederick Charles Janes in 1895 and they had three children. My grandfather Leslie, Phyliss and Wilfred. Apparently her full name was Emily Elizabeth Parfitt. We also know that she was related to the Hawkins family (my father said that this was possibly her mothers side although not sure)

This branch of the Hawkins family goes back to the Duke of St Albans - the Dukedom granted by King Charles to his illegitmate son by Nell Gwynne.

Does this fit in at all?

We have lots of photos from Emilys family. One shows a policeman, others show a family with the father in military uniform. One from a cousin 'Sydney'. If any of this ties in please get back to me.

Thanks Amanda
