Dear Gary,

My name is Helene Parenteau and I am from Woonsocket also. My father and two generations back of his ancestors come from St. Robert, Canada.

I am sure you probably have heard about this place by now, but I assure you YOU WILL find your ancestral roots there. Go to the FrancoAmerican Genealogical Society right there in Woonsocket. It is in the basement of a building right near St. Charles Church on North Main Street.

To get the proper address and hours they are open, you can call them at 401-765-6141.

They have a wealth of information on ALL the French Canadian who came down to the states going back 300 years.

My family did the entire genealogical history there and we were able to go back quite a few generations.

Bonne Chance! (Parlez-vous francais?)
Helene
