I'm wondering if your Daniel Smith is any connection to my Smiths. My g-g-grandfather was Eleazer Smith b 19 Jul 1797 VT. He went to Chatham Quebec then to Warwick Co Ontario. After his marriage and several children about 1850 they came to St Clair Co Michigan. I'm trying to find his parents who according to census records was born in MA. They could be Thomas Smith and Elizabeth Parcher. She was the daughter of Timothy K Parcher born 1746 ME. I believe my Smith were from Maine as we know it today but then it could have been Massachusetts. Also handed down in our family is that Eleazer Smith was some Indian, Cherokee. I believe from what I have found this would be from the Parcher family. This is what makes me think Eleazers' father was Thomas Smith that married Elizabeth Parcher?? I see in my notes that a James Smith b abt 1795 married Sarah Straw (thought he might be a brother of Eleazer. If you have anything further on the Smith family maybe it would help me put this together. Thanks
