Hi, I'm Mark Kirkland, the great grandson of Elias Kirkland. I'm at the beginning of a quest to find where my family originated from. I was told at an early age that he was born in Ohio. I was also told that he was in the Civil war and was captured by the confederates. After the war, he took his family and left for Oregon.

It seems that the time lines match up. The big question for me is: if this Elias that you have in your records is my great grandfather, was his last name changed when Roxavannah married Robert Kirkland?

I just did a DNA. Is my bloodline Parcher?

Thanks for your input, Mark Kirkland
