I have been researching David Parcher and Daniel Parcher in the Grand Traverse area.
Daniel Parcher was a carpenter. Born as close as I can figure from census records 18 Nov 1850 in Warwick Lambton Ontario. He was the son of Timothy Parcher died bef 1855 in St Clair Co MI and Malinda Smith b abt 1831 in London Twp Middlesex Ont. I have her death date of 1 Aug 1860 in Jeddo St Clair Co. She was the daughter of Eleazer Smith and Clarissa Cole. After Timothy died she married aJohn Smith.
Timothy was the s/o Timothy Parcher and Sarah Smith.
Timothy and Malinda had one son Daniel mentioned above born 1850 died 25 Dec 1900 in Blair Twp Grand Traverse Co MI. Daniel married several times and I don't have this all figured out yet but his first wife was Amanda Hiscock. Married 10 Jul 1875 in St Clair Co MI. They had one daughter Phebe born 1878. Marriage record said Daniel was age 24 Amanda was 18 Married at Lakeport MI. They had one daughter Phebe born 1878 She was age 2 in the 1880 Burtchville St Clair Census.
Then Daniel married a Frances last name unknown. She is buried with him in the Oakwood Cem in Traverse City. They had two daughters Bertha born 1883 and Lillie born 1885. There is also a Pearl buried with them. Frances died 30 Aug 1887. Then on 18 Dec 1891 Daniel Parcher of Traverse City married Isadore Jane Schagel in Bad Axe Huron Co MI. They divorced.
Then in the newspaper on Jan 3 1889 of Traverse City said Daniel Parcher returned Christmas Day with his new bride. No idea who she was yet. So this is some of what I learned about Daniel the carpenter.
David Parcher was the sailor, also the son of Timothy Parcher and Sarah Smith. Born about 1829 Chatham Quebec. It was his daughter Clara's wedding he went to then left by boat and died when a storm came up and the boat sank. I cannot find in the Travers papers anything about this ship wreck. The wedding is listed in the news it was a double wedding at Northport. What part of the family did you get the ship wreck story from? You can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you like.
