Hi Keith

Thanks again for your help . I had not noticed such an age difference, the 1891 census puts Sarah aged 68 and Elias aged63 and yet their marriage certificate gives Sarah 20 and Elias 24 in 1852.
My Grandfather,William Smith and possibly other siblings had in 1881 left home and joined the Marines and married my grandmother in1880.
I am relatively new at this familly research, and have been promted by your first E Mail to obtain a 1851 census of Wiltshire, alas I cannot see such a census available for Kent,my Fathers side of the familly lived here. So I appreciate the help you have given me .
Many Thanks
John Webb
