Jim, I thought you might be interested in updating your information on one of the Paquin family members that you have included in your post.

Madlyn Paquin the daughter of Noel Paquin was married to my husband's uncle. I must also explain that I did not know her very well. In fact, I hadn't seen her for the last 20 years or so. So what I'm posting is all I have on her.

Madlyn was born 11 July 1908 St. Ignace, Mackinac Co., Michigan. She married 1st Chandler M. "Chan" Elkenburg 23 Nov 1929 (s/o Montgomery Elkenberg and Almeda McDonough). He was born Nov 1882 <Van Buren Co., MI> he probably died before 1946.
She married 2nd 27 Jan 1946 at the 1st Baptist Church, South Haven, Van Buren Co., Michigan to
Charles Lloyd "Chuck" ANDRUS. He was the son of Emory D. Andrus and Nellie Williams. He was born 7 Apr 1921 in Englishville, Alpine Twp., Kent Co., Michigan and died 25 Aug 1970 at his home, 3744 Roma Lane N.E., Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI. He was 49 years old.

They had no children that I know of and she never remarried.

Clipping from unknown newspaper:
"Madlyn Elkenburg and Charles Andrus are Married in Baptist Church Sunday"
"Madlyn Elkenburg and Charles Andrus were married Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at an impressive candlelight service held in the First Baptist Church."

"The couple exchanged nuptial vows before an alter decorated with bouquets of mixed spring flowers. The double ring service was read by the Rev. Fayette W. Wing, pastor of the church in the presence of the immediate families and close friends."

"Mrs. Melvin Andrus was matron of honor and Melvin Andrus the groom's brother, served as his best man."

(goes on to discribe in detail her dress, etc.)

"...They will be at home upon their return at 312 Michigan avenue."

"Mrs. Andrus is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Paquin of St Ignace and was formerly employed at the Burge and Burge Grocery."

"The groom who was recently honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces will be associated with his brother in farming on rural route four, South Haven."

Obit., Grand Rapids Press, 17 Jan 2004, Pg-D5
ANDRUS - Madlyn Andrus, aged 95, of Grand Rapids, born July 11, 1908 in St. Ignace, died January 16, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Andrus. She is survived by her sister, Hazel Caldwell of Plymouth and friends, Valli and Terrence Cowan and Rebecca Lair. Funeral services will be Sunday 1:00 P.M. at the O"Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Rev. Ray Mayhew of Calvary Church, officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Paws with a Cause, 4646 Division St., Moline, Michigan 49348

Her husband Charles Andrus was buried in Englishville Cemetery, Alpine Twp., Kent Co., MI. I am not sure where she was to be buried. I was unable to attend the funeral.
