Hi, Can anyone out there help me with this, found it while trying to gather info, on my family lines.
1836 Mixed Blood of th Ottawa, Chippewa Indians of Mi.
#373 Angelique Jellee;age 19, res. of Machinaw admitted in council, $305.89 paid to Basil Jellee, child of #343, and wife of Basil.
#343 Angelick Boadwine, age 38 of Ste. Ignace admitted in coucil, $305.89 paid to Antonie Pacquin, his wife.
Any clues to this???
Angelique (Joly)Jellee, married to Basil, being my gggrandmother, maiden name Baudion, spell many ways Boadwine, being one of them. Her mother, was Angelique, also, but married to Joseph Baudion, Mackinaw Island being where they resided, all the dated work, to be the same persons. I know many strange things happen with the native american people and signing of census.
Hope some one can shed some light on this.
