Matthias Farnsworth (aka Claude-Mathias Farnsworth) has an interesting captive story that's been published in several places, including the 'net. Here's the information on the generations about which you inquired:
His grandson Mathias Phaneuf married Rosalie Granger on Aug. 3, 1772 at St. Charles-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Rosalie was the daughter of Benoni Granger and Anne Richard.
Their son Jean-Felicien Phaneuf married Marguerite Bergeron on Nov. 16, 1812 at St. Charles-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Marguerite was the daughter of Joseph Bergeron and Francoise Paquet.
This information is from a book outlining the genealogies of families from Ste. Rosalie, St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. Your note about the wedding of Paul Paquin and Marcelline Phaneuf as having occurred at Ste. Rosalie led me to this book.
