Just to keep up to date, I now seriously doubt that my great grandfather, Charles L. Greene, married a Mary paquette from central Wisconsin. For one thing, he was around 30 years older (1840 vs. 1870).

However, it is still possible that he married a Mary Paquette in Indiana, around 1891. All I know is that his (second) wife was named Minnie in the cesuses. However, his last daughter was named Evangeline, which has an Acadian-French connotation. And my grandmother once said her mother's maiiden name was Paquette (souned like it). Of course, she could've made it up, for some reason. All Charle's daughters would seem to have been born in Crawford County, WI.
