Hi Renee,

You are very welcome. Wish I had more answers.

I noticed you had another question about Richard Walter Pannell. You and Mal are both right. Richard "Dickie" born 1801 SC married Elizabeth Grubbs. He was Anderson's son

Richard, born 1850 in Pontotoc Co., MS, known as Squire Pannell as he was a Justice of the Peace, and at other times Squire Bud. He was the youngest son (Bud) of Elias Mitchell Pannell and Nancy Jane Hanks. Elias son of Anderson and was a younger brother of the older Richard "Dickie" Pannell.

The younger Richard was called Squire Bud to distinguish him from a cousin, Wiseman Pannell (youngest son of Zachariah) who was also called Bud. Wiseman was older than Richard so he had the nickname first.

Did that clear it up or make it worse? To complicate matters, these brothers named their sons after themselves and after each other, although as far as I know Elias never had a Richard. And there were Williams all over the place.

More fun.
