It so happens I was on my way in here to make a correction. Rhoda Grubbs, daughter of Enoch Sr. married John Hedgepeth, not Peter as I said. Their children were Peter, Rhoda and Jane.
They are buried in Chapman Burying Ground in Chester Co. I have a book that Louise Kelly Crowder started in 1970 and finished one volume before dying. Not many of our people are in it, but they are. It reads "John Hedgepath/born in Virginia 12 June 1768/Died Chester District 11 December 1854
Roday Hedgepath/Died 13 February 1841 in her 70th year". I don't know which spelling is correct but I always heard it pronounced "eth". I have found a lot variations to the spelling of most names, I imagine you have too.
I think I have copies of the deeds you mentioned. About Zachariah, I seem to remember on one deed he was serving as Justice of the Peace for a while.
It is hard to know exactly which of these people were related by blood although there was certain to be a lot of intermarrying. But I think a lot of witnessing of deeds and wills was done by neighbors.
Another thing I need to clarify from my earlier posting is when David Pannell born 1763 was living in Winston Co., AL in 1860, the postoffice address was Eldridge. The town I stopped in was Double Springs in Winston Co. On the present day map Eldridge is in Walker Co. in case someone wants to contact a courthouse.
About Mary Grubbs who married George Lott, I have no information. You may be right that she is Enoch Sr.'s sister, we know nothing about his background. I believe someone thinks they know his parents, but I have seen no document in that regard and have not heard family stories about it.
I hope there are no more errors.
