I have a deed from Fairfield District, S.C. for 177.5 acres sold by David and Mary Pannel to George Lott in 1833.The deed is witnessed by John McCully and Edward Halsel. The property is adjacent to the Heirs of Enoch Grubbs, Jacob Woodson, Thomas Means and William Halsel's land on Little River. In 1834, George Lott sold this property to William Hedgepath.
I am researching the Lotts. This George Lott was either the son of William Lott, who in turn was the son of George Lott, the patriot of Fairfield; or George Lott the son of Jesse Lott, Sr., who in turn was the son of George Lott, the patriot of Fairfield; or, doubtfully, the son of George Lott, the patriot of Fairfield. There were actually 3 George Lotts in this timeframe with these lineages.George Lott, son of George Lott, the patriot of Fairfield, had already left for Alabama, so it is doubtful it was him.
My understanding is that the David Pannel with wife Mary in my deed would have been the David Pannel, born 1763.David Pannel, born 1763, had a son named David perhaps, but he was an infant at the time of this deed.
The Pannels and George Lott in this deed are listed as being residents in Chester, but the land sale is re land in Fairfield.
Any information about Lotts in connection with any of the other parties in this deed will be most welcome!
