My 4grgrandfather, Anderson Pannell, had a son named Daniel, who was born around 1798 or so in Fairfield Co., SC. He wandered over to GA in 1820, then he or another Daniel showed up in Haywood Co. NC in 1830. In 1840 he was back to SC living next to his father, and a marriage record of his daughter indicates he died before 1850. We have wondered if Mary Gunter Pannell in Jackson Co. was his widow. Can you shed some light on that? Her daughter, Elmira stated more than once to the census taker that she was born in SC.

Some of the ages between 1820 and 1840 don't jibe, so Mary may not have been his first wife.

Would appreciate any information. If I'm wrong, I would like to know it.

Sarah Price
