I hope you don't mind a couple of comments.
First of all William Henry Pannell was son of William J. Pannell and Catherine Wages. They were married 4 Sep 1856 in Pontotoc Co., MS and appeared together in Pontotoc Co., MS Census in 1860 with two sons, William H. 3 and James S. 2. Apparently he died soon and she remarried Edward Morgan 11 Apr 1861.It is not clear who William J.'s parents were. His birthplace was SC so he is almost certainly connected to one or the other of the two branches of Pannells who settled in Pontotoc Co., MS by 1850.
2. Richard Walter Pannell's son who married Susan Dye was Wiley Ephraim Pannell.Richard's oldest son was William Jackson Pannell, not to be confused with the William J. above.
3. It is correct that Richard's father was Anderson Pannell of South Carolina but Anderson and William Pannell, Jr. were brothers, sons of William Pannell,Sr.
Sorting out all these similar names can be so confusing at times.
